June 27th, 2004 - The Great American Bash! (ppv)
Rey Mysterio (c) Vs Chavo Guerrero
The music of Chavo Guerrero hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring as the challenger for the Cruiserweight Championship against the defending Champion, Rey Mysterio!

The start:
Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero stood face to face in the ring and Chavo talked some trash and then he stepped back and the two locked it up in the center of the ring and Chavo put Rey in a waist lock and took him down to the mat and Rey got out of it and grabbed Chavo by the arm and rolled him up to get a two count. Chavo Guerrero worked over the left knee of Rey Mysterio and he put Rey in a half crab and Rey used his right leg to kick Chavo in the face to break it up. Chavo then went for a back drop of sorts but Rey countered it into a bulldog to pull Chavo down to the mat but Rey looked to have landed on his left knee on the way down.
Chavo lifted Rey onto his back and Rey spun around into a hurricanrana to pull him down to the mat. Chavo then whipped Rey into the corner and Rey hopped over Chavo and landed on his knee, giving Chavo the opportunity to capitalize by grabbing Mysterio. Chavo grabbed Mysterio and gave him a suplex onto the turnbuckles, leaving him stuck in the tree of woe position. Chavo charged at Rey Mysterio but Rey pulled himself up and Chavo went sailing into the ring post and then to the arena floor. Rey then went to the top rope and came off with a senton on Chavo to take him down to the mats on the outside of the ring.
Chavo Guerrero and Rey Mysterio battled on the very top rope and then both men tossed each other down to the center of the ring and referee Charles Robinson started the count on both Mysterio and Guerrero as they were down and out. Chavo got up and pinned Rey for a two count but Rey countered it into a quick cradle for a two count.
Chavo went back to the knee and he gave Rey a slingshot and Rey landed on the second rope and came back with a drop kick to send Chavo down to the mat. Rey then ran off the ropes and hit Chavo with a springboard cross body and then he gave Chavo a side Russian leg sweep and a pin for a two count.
Rey jumped on Chavo Guerrero but Chavo caught him and countered it into the Gory Bomb and then he covered Mysterio but only got a two count.
Rey Mysterio hit Chavo Guerrero with an Enziguri to knock him into the middle rope and then he gave him the 619 and went for the West Coast Pop but Chavo caught him in a single leg crab in an attempt to get Rey to tap out but Rey crawled to get to the bottom rope but Chavo pulled him back to the center of the ring. Rey Mysterio finally crawled to the ropes to break up the hold to stay in the match.
Chavo put Rey in a power bomb position and he went for the Gory Bomb but Rey Mysterio countered it into a sunset flip power bomb into a pin for a three count to get the win!

June 24th, 2004 - SmackDown!
10-Man Cruiserweight Battle Royal
(Participants included Funaki, Nunzio, Jamie Noble, Spike Dudley, Shannon Moore, Paul London, Akio, Scotty 2 Hotty, Chavo Guerrero, and Billy Kidman)
The winner of this match was to receive a shot at Rey Mysterio's belt at the Great American Bash. Speaking of Rey Rey, he joined Tazz and Cole at the announce table. (CMV1 note- Holy Paul London sighting Batman!). There was some exciting action during this nearly 10 minute contest, as we, on occassion, caught a glimpse of what the cruisers can do when given a chance. Paul London was very impressive during his short-stint. In the spot that eliminated Akio and Moore, Moore did a springboard hurricarana that sent himself and Akio over the top (impressive). In an another impressive spot, the finish saw Chavo Gorry Bomb Kidman over the top rope, as Guerrero claimed victory at 9:43. After the match, Chavo and Rey exchanged words and had a staredown.

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Classic.
Rey Mysterio pinned Chavo Classic to win the WWE Cruiserweight championship in a short match. Classic hugged Chavo Guerrero in the ring after the match.

June 10th, 2004 - SmackDown! - Uniondale, NY
Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.
- Chavo Classic (w/ his hired ladies) joined Tazz and Cole for commentary. Finally, after No Way Out’s match-of- the-year candidate between these two, we got to see a re-match (albeit not for the cruiserweight title). In the middle of the contest, there was a dreaded commercial break, but that is to be expected. This was a good match that saw Mysterio deviate from the repetitive spots we have seen him do in the past several weeks and get more creative. The finish saw Classic try to interfere after Rey hit the 619 on Chavo Jr. However, the interference backfired, as Classic hit his son instead of Mysterio, allowing Rey Mysterio to defeat Chavo Jr. at 11:13 with a hurricarana pin.

Chavo was on commentary with Cole & Tazz. Finally interfered in his Dad's match.

May 27th, 2004 - SmackDown! - Milwaukee
We're now shown the outside of Chavo Classic's locker room. He has a large sign on it that says "Chavo Classic: WWE Cruiserweight Champion." Chavo barges in and Classic yells at him for not knocking, then slams the door in his face. Chavo knocks and asks Classic if he's ready. Classic opens the door and is all smiles. He's so ready, infact, he wants Chavo to go out first and introduce him. Tonight, the Crusierweight title is going old school.

Oooooooooh Chaaaaaaavo... Chavo cuts a small promo and says that at first he was shocked and very upset about losing the title last week. But after some time, he's glad that it at least stayed in the family. He then brings out the greatest dad in the world, Chavo Classic. Classic is sporting his best Ric Flair robe.

Chavo Classic d. Akio
If you watch this match, it makes you appreciate how well Ric Flair works at his age. Chavo Classic took a few punches and kicks, delt them out also, but really couldn't do much more. Akio hit an amazing corkscrew moonsault on Classic for a two, thanks to Chavo. Classic dumped Akio on the outside, where Chavo hit a tornado DDT on Akio. He rolled Akio into the ring and Classic got the pin. Like someone in the section said, Chavo Classic gave him a jurassic ass whooping.

May 20th, 2004 - SmackDown! - Las Vegas, Nevada
Meanwhile, Chavo Guerrero & Chavo Classic are getting into an argument about tonight's triple threat match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship where Chavo will have to defend against Classic and Spike Dudley. Classic thinks that he can still go in the ring, but Chavo Jr. believes that he's the best Guerrero in the entire family.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship - Triple Threat Match
Chavo Guerrero Vs Chavo Classic vs Spike Dudley
Decent match, with both Chavos working over Spike for most of the contest. Near the end, Spike manages to clothesline Chavo Jr. to the outside. Chavo heads back in and tries to connect with his Gory Bomb, but Spike manages to reverse it into a sunset flip for two. Spike nails the Acid Drop on Chavo, but before he can go for the cover, he collides with Chavo Classic. This causes Classic to fall on top of Chavo Jr. and get the three count to win the title. Ok, while this is not helping matters any for the cruiserweight title, I rather see Chavo Classic hold the belt than Jacqueline. Not that there is anything wrong with Jacqueline. I think she's a fine wrestler, and could help build a new women's division on Smackdown, but I don't know if she's going to have the same luck fighting it out with men like Chyna used to have.
WINNER & NEW CHAMPION: Chavo Classic

May 16th, 2004 - Judgment Day (PPV) - Los Angeles, California
Chavo and Chavo Classic are shown in the locker room and Jacqueline comes in with a present for Chavo. She said she got him something special to wear to the ring tonight. Chavo said he doesn't need a gift and he opens it and it a a pair of bra and panties. Chavo said this is not funny, this is not playtime and tonight he is going to make her hurt so bad and take back that Cruiserweight Title. Chavo Classic was then shown in the background playing with the thong!

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match
Chavo Guerrero vs. Jacqueline (c)

The music of Chavo Guerrero hit in the arena as he made his way to the ring with his father, Chavo Classic, and this will be his shot to regain the Cruiserweight Championship from Jacqueline, but he will have one arm tied behind his back! Chavo kicked Jacqueline in the gut and then went to work on her with shoulders to the mid section. Chavo then picked Jacqueline up and hit a back breaker on Jacqueline. Chavo kicked Jacqueline on the mat and went to work on her in the corner. He whiiped her across the ring but she hit a headscissors that sent him into the steel post.
Jacqueline went to work on Chavo and she got on his back with a sleeper hold but Chavo backed her into the corner. Jacqueline then kicked Chavo three times in the midsection and made the cover for a two count. Jacqueline went to work with some forearms and Classic got on the apron and she hit a dropkick to his knee to knock him down. Chavo then took advantage with a clothesline and while the referee was distracted, Jacqueline hit a low blow and rolled Chavo up for two, and Chavo escaped to the outside.
Chavo Classic untied Chavo without Jacqueline or the referee knowing and Chavo got back in the ring. Jacqueline went for a right hand but he blocked it and hit a clothesline to knock her down. Classic kept distracting the referee as Chavo hotshotted Chavo over the top rope. Classic grabbed a chair to distract the referee and Chavo hit a Gory Bomb on Jacqueline and then covered her to regain his championship!
Winner - Chavo Guerrero!

Chavo got on the mic and said that she made him do this and so did everyone who laughed at him. He said she is not laughing anymore and now no one can laugh at Chavo Guerrero again because he is once again the WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Classic then went over to Jacqueline and kicked her in the midsection as the two left the ring.

May 13th, 2004 - SmackDown! - Reno, Nevada
Elsewhere, Smackdown decides to torture me by giving Jacqueline promo time. Doesn't anyone remember the time when she tried to be the co-commentator on Heat? She sucks on the mic, since most of the time she talks slow and you can barely make out what she's saying. Her big moment was taunting Chavo Guerrero that he lost to a girl. Thankfully, Chavo comes out to save this segment with Chavo Classic. Chavo informs everyone that it's going to be Chavo Guerrero vs. Jacqueline for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and Chavo will wrestle with one hand tied behind his back. Ohh god, I don't think that the "one hand/arm tied behind your back" gimmick has ever produced a decent match. Chavo Classic is itching for some action, so he makes a challenge to Jacqueline for a match right here, RIGHT NOW!

Match 2: Chavo Classic (with Chavo Guerrero) vs. Jacqueline
Semi-watchable match, thanks to Chavo Classic. I'm still not sold on how credible it's going to be for Jacqueline to hang with the guys, but as long as she's dropping the gold to Chavo at the PPV, I don't mind as much. The end comes when Jackie gets dumped to the apron and Chavo pulls her off so she connects with the apron head first. Chavo throws her back into the ring, Chavo Classic went for the cover, and got the win. If they don't give the cruiserweight title back to Chavo at the PPV, I'm totally giving up on the cruiserweight division because it will be obvious that Vince doesn't take it seriously at all.
